IIA Event Reports

The Indonesian Irish Association (IIA) has been actively engaged in various cultural and community events throughout 2025. These events reflect the IIA's commitment to cultural exchange, community building, and supporting various causes both locally and internationally.

2025 has been a year of impact and visibility for IIA:

• Media Coverage: Several events were featured in local news outlets and online platforms, raising awareness of Indonesian culture in Ireland.

• Collaborations: Partnerships with local organizations, such as Dublin Zoo and the Filipino Multicultural Society, The African Community, Festival Inclusion, St Partricks, joined the SEANI, have expanded the reach of IIA's initiatives, showing its role as a connector between cultures.

• Community Participation: Record attendance at major events reflects the growing influence and engagement of IIA within both the Indonesian and Irish communities.

The IIA aims to continue its role as a cultural ambassador and community builder by:

• Expanding educational programs for children and adults.

• Increasing environmental and social initiatives that connect Ireland with Indonesia.

• Strengthening collaborations with cultural, educational, and civic organizations in Ireland and beyond.

• Leveraging digital platforms to reach a wider audience and promote cross-cultural learning.

Run For Wildlife at Dublin Zoo 2025

Join us for a charity fun run and help support wildlife conservation while celebrating Indonesian culture through music, dance, and performances.

This event is a special partnership between the IIA and Dublin Zoo in support of Selamatkan Yaki conservation, a mission to protect Yaki Crested Black Macaque from Sulawesi, Indonesia is now critically endangered and at serious risk of extinction.

All proceeds go towards the conservation in Sulawesi, Indonesia.

The 2025 St Patricks Day Parade kicks off at 11am, travelling along Queen's Road and ending at the Marine Road junction towards the Harbour. Following the parade, LÉ William Butler Yeats will dock at Dún Laoghaire Harbour and will be open for free tours from 1pm to 4pm. There will also be CoCo Markets, and a virtual experience in People's Park will take visitors on a fun mobile app to hunt for Carlichaun Leprechauns. #stpatrickday2025
