International Women's Day 2026 - Multicultural Flavours & Friendship
The North Leitrim Women's Centre celebrated International Women's Day 2026 with a multicultural "Flavours & Friendships" event, highlighting diverse cultures through food and shared traditions. Afi, a member of the Indo-Irish Association, represented AFI's Kitchen by sharing Indonesian cuisine, contributing to a rich showcase alongside Afro-Caribbean and Ukrainian dishes. The event focused on community connection, cultural exchange, and friendship, as part of the PEACEPLUS-supported "Hidden Half – Leitrim Women in Focus" programme.
Well done to Afi once again for bringing and showcasing Indonesian culinary traditions to the world. The Indo-Irish Association appreciates all its members who share their talents with the world in the name of Indonesia, promoting culture, unity, and pride.

Afi's Kitchen Pop Up Indonesian Food
Afi Rudzinski, a chef and culinary storyteller with over 12 years of professional experience. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, majoring in Pastry and Bakery Management, from NHI Bandung, one of Indonesia's leading hospitality institutes.
Over the past decade, I've worked as a chef in hotels and restaurants across Indonesia, Dubai, China, and now Ireland, often collaborating with Michelin-starred chefs.
Cooking has always been a part of my life. I come from a family of chefs—my mother has been in the food industry for over 30 years, and many of my relatives also work in professional kitchens. Growing up surrounded by food and tradition, I developed a deep appreciation for both Indonesian cuisine and culture—from the rich diversity of regional dishes, to traditional dances like Balinese, Minangkabau, and Sundanese, and the elegance of the kebaya, Indonesia's iconic attire.
After relocating to Bundoran, Ireland, I met many locals who had traveled to Indonesia for surfing and shared their longing for authentic Indonesian food. This inspired me to launch Afi's Kitchen @afiskitchenbundoran in May 2023—an intimate pop-up dining experience that brings a taste of Indonesia to the west coast of Ireland.
At Afi's Kitchen, I serve a thoughtfully curated five-course Indonesian menu, woven together with cultural and historical storytelling. The experience is set to the ambient sound of Gamelan and other traditional Indonesian music, creating a warm, immersive environment that celebrates the heart and soul of Indonesia.
Through food, music, and storytelling, I hope to connect cultures and keep the spirit of Indonesian heritage alive—one dining experience at a time.
