Asean Day 58th Anniversary
Committee IIA (Linda, YukiD, Ade, YukiC, Yanti) was honored to represent Indonesia at the Embassy of Malaysia in Ireland for the celebration of 58 years of ASEAN. We joined representatives from all ASEAN member states, coming together to celebrate unity, friendship, and cooperation across our region. The event was a great success, filled with warm connections, cultural pride, and the true spirit of "Unity in Diversity. Unfortunately, two of our IIA committee members, Irene and Pia, were unable to attend due to urgent family matters.

SEANI Southeast Asian Network Ireland
We would like to share the good news about the official launch of SEANI – Southeast Asian Network Ireland, a community initiative aimed at celebrating Southeast Asian culture and building strong connections within the Irish community.
We are proud to inform you that Indonesia is actively participating in SEANI, represented by Irene Murphy (Indonesia) who serves as Secretary in the founding team and Linda O'Mahony as Country Lead Indonesia.
SEANI consists of representatives from the Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar and Indonesia, and works closely with Irish and international communities.
SEANI is built on three main pillars:
Celebrate: Celebrating the rich culture, traditions, and creativity of Southeast Asia
Connect: Connecting communities through events, dialogue, and shared experiences
Unite: Strengthening ties between Southeast Asian communities, Irish society and the international community
We sincerely appreciate the support and involvement of the Indonesian Embassy and the Indonesian community in Ireland in this effort.

The Selamatkan Yaki - Run Wildlife Event
The Selamatkan Yaki event, held on 26th July 2025 at Dublin Zoo, was a remarkable success, bringing together conservationists, diplomats, educators, and the Indonesian diaspora in a joint effort to protect the critically endangered Yaki monkey (Macaca nigra), endemic to North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The event was a collaborative initiative between the Indonesia Ireland Association (IIA) and Dublin Zoo, with the shared goal of raising awareness and support for the Selamatkan Yaki conservation programme, which focuses on habitat protection, community education, and the prevention of illegal wildlife trade.
The ceremony was officially opened by the Deputy Chief of Mission from the Indonesian Embassy in London, who travelled to Dublin to represent the Embassy. In a warm and symbolic gesture of unity and gratitude, the Deputy Chief of Mission cut a traditional tumpeng, often used in Indonesian celebrations, to mark the beginning of the event.

IIA meeting with the new Irish Ambassador for Indonesia Ms, Sharon Lennon
Linda O'Mahony, Vice Chair of the Indonesian-Irish Association (IIA), together with Ms. S. Donatirin, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in UK & Ireland, met with Ms. Sharon Lennon, the newly appointed Irish Ambassador to Indonesia. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Dublin.
The Indonesian diaspora in Ireland extends heartfelt congratulations to Her Excellency Ambassador Sharon Lennon on her new post. We wish her every success in Indonesia and hope her tenure will strengthen the ties between our two countries and bring mutual benefits to both nations.

Indonesia once again earned recognition at the TMU Awards, an international event that celebrates diversity in culture, identity, and creative expression. The annual ceremony brings together voices from around the world, honoring individuals and nations that contribute to a more inclusive global community. Indonesia stood out for its rich cultural heritage, vibrant arts scene, and continued efforts to promote unity through diversity, showcasing everything from traditional music and dance to innovative cross-cultural collaborations. The award reflects not only artistic excellence but also a commitment to building bridges between cultures.

IIA & PBI IRL&NI Represent Indonesian Diaspora at Asia Matter Event in Cork.
On June 19, 2025, Yuki Yuliatin represented the Indonesian Irish Association (IIA) and PBI IRL&NI at the Asia Matter event held in Cork, Ireland. The participation was by special invitation from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Dublin, recognizing the active role of the Indonesian diaspora in Ireland.
During the event, Deputy Ambassador of Indonesia, Mrs. Sahadatun Donatirin, introduced Yuki Yuliatin to several prominent Irish figures, including:
Mr. Noel Grealish TD, Minister of State of Ireland,
Mr. James O'Connor TD, Chair of the Pireachtas Joint Committee on Enterprise, Tourism & Employment Ireland,
Mr. Martin Murray from Asia Matter.
This engagement highlights the Indonesian diaspora's ongoing commitment to supporting Indonesia-Ireland relations and promoting collaboration between Asia and Ireland.

Halal Bihalal IANI 2025
Perwakilan dari IIA dan PBI IRL & NI turut hadir dalam acara halal bihalal Lebaran 2025 yang diselenggarakan di Belfast oleh PPI Belfast, IANI, dan komunitas Muslim NI.
Selain sesi sambutan pembacaan doa dan tausiyah, acara juga dimeriahkan dengan berbagai permainan interaktif dan pembagian doorprize. Makan.ie, sebagai salah satu platform makanan Indonesia di Irlandia, ikut mendukung acara ini dengan menjadi sponsor hadiah doorprize untuk sesi games, yang menambah semarak dan antusiasme peserta.

IIA Attended Africa Day 2025
The Indonesian Irish Association was proud to attend Africa Day 2025 at DLR Lexicon. We joined in celebrating the Philippine community and honoring Irish UN peacekeepers in the Congo (1961–1964).
It was a special evening of culture, connection, and respect, a true reminder of the power of unity across nations.

IIA Bertemu dengan Direktur Jendral Ketenagakerjaan K3 Indonesia
Pada kesempatan yang istimewa, IIA berkesempatan untuk bertemu dengan Bapak Fahrurozi, Direktur Jenderal Ketenagakerjaan bidang K3, beserta keluarga beliau yang sedang berkunjung ke Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Pertemuan ini berlangsung dalam suasana hangat dan penuh keakraban, diawali dengan santap malam bersama dan dilanjutkan dengan obrolan santai seputar berbagai hal, termasuk isu ketenagakerjaan dan keselamatan kerja baik di Indonesia maupun luar negeri.
Momen kebersamaan ini menjadi pengalaman berharga dan mempererat tali silaturahmi di antara kita.

The Yaki population is shrinking fast and they need our help now.
Every cent raised will go directly to conservation efforts in Sulawesi.

Perayaan Paskah 2025 dengan Konkriid
Konkriid Komunitas Kristiani Indonesia di Irlandia berkumpul di Knocklyon Parish untuk merayakan Paskah 2025 bersama.
Acara dimulai dengan Perayaan Ekaristi yang khusyuk, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan ramah tamah, makan bersama secara potluck, dan berbagai permainan seru.
Suasana penuh kehangatan, tawa, dan kebersamaan terasa sepanjang acara.
IIA diwakili oleh Linda & Perempuan Berkebaya Indonesia Irlandia & Irlandia utara diwakili oleh anggotanya Ida & Nancy, PPI diwakili oleh Bernard, semuanya sangat bersyukur bisa merayakan kebangkitan Kristus bersama keluarga besar Kristiani Indonesia di Irlandia.

Pelayanan Konsuler
Pelayanan konsuler di Dublin bertemu dengan Ibu S. Donatirin (Wakil Duta Besar) dan Ibu Indri Ardini Kusuma (pejabat bidang Konsuler). Pertemuan membahas berbagai isu yang dihadapi WNI di Irlandia, mulai dari masalah visa, ketenagakerjaan, kesehatan, kematian, hingga persoalan hukum dan rumah tangga. KBRI London berharap Indonesian Irish Association (IIA) dapat menjadi perpanjangan tangan dalam menangani kasus-kasus tersebut di wilayah Irlandia.

At the Malaysia Cultural Evening and Networking Session on Sept 6th 2024 with the Irish community in Kildare and Naas.
The event was aimed at promoting Malaysia's multi-racial culture and cuisines, it was an honor to be invited at this great event and we look forward to having similar collaboration with Asian diaspora in Ireland in the near future.

IIA and PBI Europe Visit UNESCO in Paris, France
On February 27, 2025, representatives from the Indonesian Irish Association (IIA) and the Perempuan Berkebaya Indonesia (PBI) Europe visited the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France. During the visit, they had the honor of meeting with Indonesia's Ambassador to UNESCO, Mr. Satrya Wibawa.
The discussion focused on the recognition of the kebaya as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO—a significant milestone in the preservation and promotion of Indonesian culture on the global stage.
This meeting marked an important step in strengthening Indonesia's cultural diplomacy and fostering collaboration among diaspora communities in preserving and celebrating the nation's rich cultural heritage.

Dinner Meeting IIA & PPI dengan Atase Pertahanan KBRI Untuk Inggris, Irlandia, Swedia, Norwegia dan Latvia.
Pada tanggal 17 Februari 2025 Indonesian Irish Asosiasi (IIA) dan Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia Irlandia (PPI), serta Perempuan Berkebaya Indonesia Eropa Irlandia & Irlandia Utara, mengadakan pertemuan serta ramah tamah dengan Bapak Kolonel Wiyata S. Aji beserta istri, serta Bapak Donny dari Atase Pertahanan Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia (KBRI) untuk Inggris, Irlandia, Swedia, Norwegia, dan Latvia.
Acara yang berlangsung dalam suasana santai di Dublin ini diisi dengan santap malam bersama, di mana para hadirin yg datang berkesempatan untuk bertukar pikiran dan berbagi informasi mengenai berbagai isu strategis, baik dalam bidang pertahanan, pendidikan, budaya maupun kerja sama internasional.
Kegiatan ini menjadi momen berharga dalam mempererat hubungan antara komunitas diaspora Indonesia di Irlandia, akademisi, mahasiswa, dan perwakilan pemerintah Indonesia di luar negeri. Semoga silahturahmi dan komunikasi yang baik ini terus terjalin demi kemajuan bangsa dan negara tercinta Indonesia dan membangun rasa nasionalisme yang tinggi.

MOU Indonesian Irish Association with Irish Chamber of Commerce Indonesia
On 11 February 2025, in Jakarta, Indonesia, The Indonesian & Irish Association had the great honor of attending a dinner hosted by H.E. Padraig Francis, Ambassador of Ireland to Indonesia, in celebration of ongoing efforts to foster stronger economic and business ties between Ireland and Indonesia.
This special evening was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Indonesian Irish Association and The Irish Chamber of Commerce of Indonesia, a milestone that we believe will further enhance collaboration and mutual opportunities accross industries, trade and cultural exchange.

Pada perayaan Imlek 2025 yang diselenggarakan oleh Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di Dublin, Irlandia, delegasi dari IIA (Indonesian Irish Association) dan PBI (Perempuan Berkebaya Indonesia Irlandia & Irlandia Utara) turut hadir meramaikan acara. Momen berharga diabadikan dengan sesi foto bersama Duta Besar dan Wakil Duta Besar Malaysia untuk Irlandia, menandakan semangat persahabatan, keberagaman budaya, dan keharmonisan antarbangsa. Perayaan ini menjadi wadah mempererat hubungan diplomatik sambil menikmati tradisi Tahun Baru Imlek yang meriah.
